Introduction to Brioche Knitting, 12:30-3:30 PM
The class is scheduled for 12:30-3:30 PM Saturday March 2, 2024 with Jean Gross in Montgomery Hall.
Brioche is a knitting technique that creates a thick, cushiony, reversible fabric that is perfect for cowls, scarves and shawls, as well as larger items. In this introductory class, you’ll learn how to do two-color brioche in-the-round. You’ll receive the pattern needed to complete a cozy cowl and the basics for advancing your brioche skills.
Skills needed: experience with knit and purl stitches and knitting in-the-round.
Materials needed to bring:
⁃ two contrasting worsted-weight yarns - 2 oz. Each
⁃ Size 6/4mm 16” circular needle
⁃ Stitch marker
⁃ Darning needle
⁃ Scissors
Homework: with darker color, cast on 114 stitches and work 5 rows of stockinette stitch in-the-round.
